Commercial partner standards

Seller & Affiliate Standards

The minimum evidence, disclosure and independence standards for seller destinations and affiliate relationships.

Phase 25A-1.0 Last reviewed Sep 3, 2026

A seller relationship is not Price Truth

Commercial authorization and price-source evidence are intentionally separate. A retailer can be an affiliate partner without automatically becoming the Best Price, and a price source can be useful evidence without granting that seller any commercial privilege.

Minimum standards for a monetized destination

  • A genuine commercial relationship or affiliate authorization exists before tracking is activated.
  • The destination is appropriate to the same product or clearly identified configuration being shown to the reader.
  • The link does not obscure the retailer responsible for checkout, delivery, warranty and returns.
  • Paid links are appropriately disclosed and technically qualified.
  • Partner-reported conversions are not treated as earned revenue until reconciled under the site’s owner review process.

Price and seller ordering

Seller presentation should prioritize useful, supportable buying information. A higher commission rate does not grant a seller a fabricated lower price, false in-stock state or preferential Price Truth treatment.

Prohibited partner influence

  • Requiring a positive review as a condition of payment.
  • Requesting that documented specification or price corrections be suppressed.
  • Supplying a destination for a materially different model without clear disclosure.
  • Treating a reported affiliate conversion as final revenue when it is still pending, refunded, rejected or reversed.

Commerce remains a separate activation decision

Affiliate referral links do not mean NepalTechHub is the merchant of record. Booking, checkout, payments, seller APIs and settlement are separate capabilities with separate activation and safety requirements.
