1. Who we are
Nepal Tech Hub is an independent technology price, specification and comparison website operated from Kathmandu, Nepal.
For privacy or data-related questions, contact us at contact@nepaltechhub.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you register, we may collect a username and email address. Passwords are stored as one-way password hashes rather than readable plain text. If you use Google Sign-In, we may receive information such as your email address, name or profile information made available by Google for authentication.
- Rewards and payout details. If you participate in the rewards program, we may store information about rewards earned, withdrawals and related account activity. If you request a payout, we store the payment details you submit, such as an eSewa or Khalti wallet number and account name, or bank account information needed to review and complete the payment.
- Reviews, ratings and comments. When you submit a review, rating or comment, we store the information you provide and information needed to operate the feature and prevent abuse. This may include your display name, email address and an IP-derived identifier.
- Wishlist information. Products saved by signed-in users may be associated with their account. Guest wishlist information may be stored locally in the visitor’s browser where that feature is available.
- Messages and support requests. We keep information you send us through email, forms or other support channels for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain relevant records.
Information collected automatically
- Technical information. Our website, hosting provider, security systems and analytics tools may process information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, approximate location derived from network information, and pages requested.
- Rewards activity. If you use the rewards program, we may record points balances, check-in activity, quiz attempts and scores, referrals, reward grants, withdrawals, refunds and reversals.
- Rewards accounting records. Reward transactions may be recorded in an accounting ledger so we can prevent duplicate claims, maintain accurate balances, reconcile withdrawals, investigate suspicious activity and resolve disputes.
- Anti-abuse and security information. We may process IP-derived identifiers, request information, account activity and other technical signals to limit spam, automated abuse, duplicate rewards, fraudulent registrations and other misuse.
- Product popularity and usage information. We may count product-page views, search activity and interactions with site features to understand which products and sections are useful.

5. Advertising and analytics
Nepal Tech Hub may use advertising and analytics services to support the website and understand how visitors use it.
- Google AdSense. Where advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure and personalise advertising subject to applicable settings and consent requirements.
- You can manage personalised advertising through Google My Ad Center.
- Google Analytics. When enabled, Google Analytics helps us understand information such as which pages are visited, general device and traffic-source information, and how visitors interact with the website.
- Where applicable, advertising and analytics technologies are operated subject to consent choices, browser settings and controls provided by Nepal Tech Hub or the relevant service provider.
Google’s handling of information is governed by its own Privacy Policy.
6. Who we share information with
We disclose personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate the website, provide requested services, protect our systems, or comply with applicable obligations.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers. Our hosting, security, caching or infrastructure providers may process technical and stored website data while providing their services.
- Google. Depending on the features you use and services currently enabled, Google may process information for advertising, analytics or Google Sign-In.
- Payment providers and financial institutions. When processing an approved rewards withdrawal, the payment information required for that transaction may be used with eSewa, Khalti, a bank or another applicable payment channel.
- Gravatar. If Gravatar is enabled for comments or profiles, a hashed form of an email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether an associated profile image exists.
- Professional advisers or service providers. Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary for technical, accounting, security, legal or operational assistance subject to appropriate obligations.
- Authorities or legal requests. Information may be disclosed where required by applicable law, lawful process, fraud investigation, security needs or protection of someone’s rights or safety.
7. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to security, accounting, dispute-resolution and legal requirements.
| Data | Retention approach |
|---|---|
| Account information | Generally retained while the account exists, plus any limited period reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution or legal obligations. |
| Rewards transaction history | Retained as reasonably necessary to maintain accurate balances, prevent duplicate or fraudulent claims, reconcile withdrawals, resolve disputes and meet applicable accounting requirements. |
| Withdrawal and payout records | May be retained after account closure where reasonably necessary for accounting, payment verification, fraud prevention or dispute resolution. |
| Published reviews and comments | May remain while relevant to the website unless removed, anonymised or deletion is otherwise appropriate. |
| Product rating anti-abuse identifiers | May be retained while reasonably necessary to prevent duplicate or fraudulent ratings. |
| Temporary anti-abuse records | Some short-lived anti-abuse identifiers may be deleted automatically after their operational purpose expires. |
| Hosting, security and server logs | Retention depends on the relevant hosting, security or infrastructure provider and our operational needs. |
| Analytics information | Retention depends on the analytics configuration and provider settings in use at the relevant time. |
If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove or anonymise personal information that we no longer need. We may retain limited rewards, transaction, payout, security or fraud-prevention records where reasonably necessary to preserve accounting integrity, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or comply with applicable obligations.
8. How we protect information
We use technical and organisational measures intended to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, alteration, loss or misuse.
- Nepal Tech Hub is served over HTTPS to encrypt data travelling between supported browsers and the website.
- Passwords are stored using one-way password hashing rather than readable plain text.
- Where an IP-derived identifier is used specifically for duplicate-rating or similar anti-abuse checks, the application may store a one-way hashed value instead of the readable IP address for that purpose.
- Hosting, server, CDN, security or infrastructure logs may separately process IP addresses for security and operational purposes.
- Account and rewards actions use authentication, request-validation and anti-forgery controls where applicable.
- Reward transactions use server-side accounting and duplicate-claim protections designed to preserve wallet integrity.
- Reward-bearing quiz attempts are checked against server-side attempt information rather than relying solely on values supplied by the browser.
- Withdrawal requests are subject to human review before being marked as paid.
No website or online service can guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate it, take reasonable containment measures and make any notifications required by applicable obligations.
9. Your choices and privacy requests
Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, you may ask us to:
- Access personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete eligible personal information or close your account.
- Remove or anonymise a review or comment where appropriate.
- Object to or restrict certain processing where a right to do so applies.
- Manage advertising choices through browser, site or advertising-provider controls.
- Unsubscribe from optional marketing or notification emails using the unsubscribe method provided with those messages, where applicable.
Send privacy requests to contact@nepaltechhub.com from the email address associated with your account where possible. We may ask for additional information reasonably necessary to confirm that the request relates to you.
We aim to respond to valid privacy requests within a reasonable period and, where applicable law establishes a specific deadline, within that applicable period.
Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights or complaint mechanisms may apply.
10. Children
Nepal Tech Hub is not designed primarily for young children, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children in situations where parental or guardian consent would be required.
Features involving rewards or payouts may have additional eligibility requirements. Users should not provide payment information or request a payout unless they are legally permitted to do so and are authorised to use the payment account submitted.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Nepal Tech Hub inappropriately, contact contact@nepaltechhub.com.
11. International processing
Nepal Tech Hub is operated from Nepal, but hosting, analytics, authentication, advertising, security and other service providers may process information in other countries.
As a result, information may be processed in jurisdictions whose data protection rules differ from those in Nepal or your country of residence.
12. Links to retailers and other websites
Nepal Tech Hub links to retailers, manufacturers, service providers, reference sources and other third-party websites.
When you leave Nepal Tech Hub and visit another website, that site’s own privacy policy and terms apply. We are not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party websites.
13. Affiliate and retailer links
Some outbound retailer or product links may be affiliate links. If you follow an affiliate link, the destination retailer or affiliate network may process technical information necessary to attribute the referral.
Any information you later provide directly to a retailer is handled under that retailer’s own privacy policy. Nepal Tech Hub does not receive your retailer password or payment-card details simply because you followed an outbound product link.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services, data practices, providers or legal obligations change.
The “Last updated” date at the top identifies the current published version. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
