How NepalTechHub distinguishes researched product profiles from hands-on reviews and what evidence is expected for each.
Researched product profile vs hands-on review
Many NepalTechHub product pages are researched catalogue profiles built from source-backed specifications, prices and Nepal-market context. A hands-on review is different: it requires the contributor to actually use or test the product. We should not imply firsthand testing when a page is research-only.
What a useful hands-on review should cover
- Phones: display, cameras, battery/charging, performance, software, thermals, ergonomics and network context.
- Laptops: display, keyboard/trackpad, performance, thermals/noise, battery, ports, webcam/audio and portability.
- Audio: fit/comfort, sound, microphone, ANC/transparency where applicable, controls, connectivity and battery.
- TVs: picture quality, motion, operating system, ports, audio, usability and viewing conditions.
- Appliances: capacity, controls, efficiency information, practical features, service/warranty context and observed usability where a real unit is available.
Evidence and measurements
Where a review makes a quantitative claim, the method and context should be reproducible enough to understand what was measured. Manufacturer specifications should be labelled as specifications rather than presented as NepalTechHub measurements.
Review units and sponsorship
Receiving a review unit, loan device, event access or sponsored placement does not guarantee a favorable verdict. Material commercial context should be disclosed when relevant.
